Harbor Fest
A few weeks ago we went up to Charleston to check out Harbor Fest. Basically, it's a big festival on the waterfront with tall ships and vendors and boat building stuff... It was pretty neat but it was insanely hot and humid! Oh. My. God. I think it was something like 95 degrees with the heat index around 105. It was miserable. And to top it off, they hid most of the tall ships behind big buildings and if you didn't have a $30 ticket, you couldn't even go down the dock or anything! BOO!!!
The other one.
This guy was showing how to widdle a canoe out of a log. It was pretty cool!
Isn't this boat gorgeous??
The Army recruiters were there... this is their flight simulator that you could go in. They also had a huge stage with some sort of karaoke going on (???). The Air Force was also there recruiting with a mini cargo plane built to scale that you could go in and some trucks and things... We looked for the lowly Marine recruiter with the rusty chin up bar, but chances are the USMC couldn't afford the vendor space. :)
